  • 3. Are Authorised BMW Service Centres still operating in lieu of the ‘circuit breaker’ measures implemented?

BIS Automobiles and Performance Motors – Sime Darby Performance Centre will resume operation from 04 May 2020 for only emergency and essential vehicle repairs. However, as we will be operating with a minimal essential workforce, we seek your understanding and patience. Rest assure that safe distancing practices will be in place at all Authorised BMW Service Centres during your visit.

  • 4. What should I do when my vehicle requires maintenance or repairs during this period?

Selected Authorised BMW Service Centres will remain open only for emergency and essential vehicle repairs.

As such, please call or email any of the Authorised BMW Service Centres with details of your query and our representative will advise you on the next steps.

  • 5. What do you mean by essential vehicle repair?

Authorised BMW Service Centres are only allowed to perform emergency vehicle repair, recovery and accident repair such as:

    • Emergency vehicle support for authority vehicles.
    • Vehicles with Condition-Based Service (CBS) issues that affect the roadworthiness of the vehicle.
    • Vehicles that were involved in an accident and requires major repair works.
    • Breakdown vehicles that has been towed in and needs to be fixed.

Non-essential repair includes preventive maintenance checks and/or service, car grooming, accessories retrofitting and etc.

  • 6. If my car breaks down and I cannot continue with my journey, what should I do?

Our BMW Roadside Assistance call centre (6377 0085) remains open, operating 24/7. If the problem cannot be solved swiftly, a towing service will be provided to the nearest Authorised BMW Service Centre. Depending on the nature of the problem, your vehicle may need to be stored and secured at the dealership until the effective ‘circuit breaker’ measures have ceased. Only essential repairs can be conducted during this period.

  • 7. If I have a previously scheduled service appointment that falls within the ‘circuit-breaker’ period, what should I do?

We will be contacting all customers to verify and reschedule your service appointments, if necessary, due to the minimal essential workforce and offer alternatives for non-essential repairs and service.

  • 8. If the Condition-Based Signal in my car turns amber, should I stop using my car immediately?

When the Condition-based Service (CBS) warning light changes to amber, you will have approximately 2,000km driving mileage to plan for your next appointment. In addition, you may also check the mileage or time required until your next service in the menu by accessing My Vehicle > Vehicle Status.

However, if the Condition-based Service (CBS) warning light changes to red, we recommend that you stop driving it for your safety. For clarification, please contact any of the Authorised BMW Service Centres with details of your query and our representative will advise you on the next steps. When necessary, BMW Roadside Assistance will tow the vehicle to the nearest Authorised BMW Service Centres.

  • 9. How should I maintain my BMW if I do not use my vehicle during the 'circuit-breaker' period?

Thanks to the intelligent sensors and Condition Based Service (CBS) maintenance system installed in your BMW, your vehicle will automatically monitor its status and alert you of any potential issues through the warning light on your BMW iDrive Control Display.

If a red warning light is shown, please contact our Authorised BMW Service Centres or BMW Roadside Assistance at 6377 0085 for further assistance.

To ensure that your BMW continues operating in optimal condition, we recommend the following:

    1. Maintain the battery health of your BMW — especially when it’s parked for long periods at a time — by driving your vehicle for at least 15 minutes every 2 weeks in order to warm up its engine and fluids periodically. Please be sure to adhere to the government’s latest COVID-19 measures when doing so.

    2. Maintain sufficient tyre pressure to enhance road safety. Fill your tyre to the recommended pressure stated on the label found on your driver’s door. Additionally, drive your vehicle for at least 15 minutes every 2 weeks. Please be sure to adhere to the government’s latest COVID-19 measures when doing so.

    3. Switching on your vehicle’s air conditioning system while driving can help promote circulation of the refrigerant oil within. Do this for approximately 10 minutes every month to ensure that your BMW remains in tip-top shape all year round. Please be sure to adhere to the government’s latest COVID-19 measures when doing so.

    4. Be sure to check the charging status of your Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles and Battery Electric Vehicles at least once per week in order to ensure that your BMW remains ready for travel.

  • 10. Will my vehicle warranty be affected if I am unable to send my car for servicing during this ‘circuit-breaker’ period?

BMW Group Asia and all Authorised BMW Service Centres understand the potential lapse in servicing during the ‘circuit-breaker’ period and will honour warranty claims that have arisen solely due to the lapse in servicing during this ‘circuit-breaker’ period. However, BMW Group Asia has to be informed via the BMW Customer Relations Team, BMW Service Online, or directly through the Authorised BMW Service Centres before the provision of any service or repair.

  • 11. If my BMW Service Inclusive (BSI) or BMW Extended Warranty ends within the ‘circuit-breaker’ period and I am unable to bring the car to the workshop, will I still be entitled to the services and repairs benefit after its expiration?

Yes, BMW Group Asia and all Authorised BMW Service Centres will honour and accept cars with BMW Service Inclusive and Extended Warranty ending within the ‘circuit breaker’ period. However, BMW Group Asia has to be informed via the BMW Customer Relations Team, BMW Service Online, or directly through the Authorised BMW Service Centres before the provision of any service or repair. The BMW Service Online appointment system http://www.bmw.com.sg/servicebooking is available 24/7 for an easy, convenient and secure service scheduling. Your service appointment can be arranged from June 2020. Your personal safety and the proper functionality of your BMW vehicle remains our top priority.

We seek your understanding and support during these times.
